The Armed Forces Remembrance Day has become a special day in the life of our nation, Nigeria. It is 15th January of every year, a day set aside nationally to honour the men of the Armed Forces who fought in First and Second World War, those who have served or are still serving in the Peace Support operations in any part of the world, and also those who fought the Nigerian Civil War.
This day was originally celebrated on 11th November of every year until it was changed to commemorate the day Biafran Army surrendered to the Nigerian Army, a day that will be remembered for the consolidation of a United Nigeria.
