SIX LIFE LESSONS FROM THE EAGLE

The Eagle is my favorite bird. It is not surprising that I dedicate time to researching about them. The Vision, Strength, Class, Speed, Intellect, etc is second to none. In my little research on this special creature, I can not but learn some lessons that are applicable to mankind in pursuit of visions and dreams. I have in this post put together a little write up about the eagle and life lessons derivable from them. enjoy...

It is true that one thing led to another between a female eagle and her male counterpart but that's not where my focus is today. Fasten your seat belt as we fast-cruise to the point where it is time for her to lay her eggs.
LESSON NO 1:
You can't do it alone, learn to collaborate with those that will help your dreams fertilize.

The mother eagle will fly far and wide to gather the finest of materials to prepare her cozy nest in preparation for the arrival of her eggs that will hatch into eaglets. The foundation of her nest must be laid meters into the heavens, far away from where the most determined predators can reach.
LESSON NO 2: Don't lay your dreams bare before dream killers. Build your fort so high that the sight of it alone will discourage them.

The eagle lays an egg, wait for about three days before laying another. When the eggs are all laid, the mother eagle knows that inside the fragile shells lies the liquid that needs warmth to transform into flesh, bones, feathers that'll soon be an eaglet. The eagle lays on the eggs for warnth necessary for incubation fro about 35 days. She knows this takes a while and no shortcut to it so she patiently broods over them denying herself the necessities of hunting for food and frivolities of fun in flight. This means she has to conserve as much energy as she can, she can't even think of wasting her energy for for chirping.
LESSON NO 3: Stay put and work on your dreams to hatch. It is not time for hangouts, showoffs or frivolities. If you hatch it before it's fully incubated, it'll be a total mess. Stay away, stay low, stay focused!

The eggs are hatched from within. Until the mother eagle perceives the cracking from inside the shell, she wont attempt to help in opening up the shell for the eaglet to emerge.
LESSON NO 4: Depend more on your inner energy. Help and all other the resources you need will surface when you find the inner courage to take first necessary steps.

After the emergence of the eaglet, the mother eagle go out to fetch food for the eaglet to survive as it is too young to neither fly nor hunt.
LESSON NO 5: Don't act too fast! Take one step at a time as growth and independence take time. Don't expect your idea to be independent of you too soon. give all the necessary support needed to nuture your dreams to maturation.

About 10-12 weeks from hatch, the novice eaglet is ready for the first flight. In most cases, the first is usually frightful so the mother eagle often have to dismantle its nest and render the juvenile eagle without shelter; worse more, the mother eagle uses its beak to push the eaglet off the cliff. That's how most eagles learn to fly.
LESSON 6: Know when to take your dream out of the nest. If you don't fly on time, you will be forced off the cliff the hard way and that can be traumatic.
